Raisi: Iran turned threats posed by arrogant powers to opportunities

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has said that the country managed to create opportunities from threats posed by arrogant powers in recent years while relying on Islamic teachings as well as its belief in independence.

Speaking in a meeting with Speaker of the People's Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia Bambang Soesatyo in Jakarta late on Tuesday, Raisi described Indonesia as an important country with a prominent position in Southeast Asia.

He added that the expansion of relations between Iran and Indonesia will benefit the Islamic world,

The Iranian president elaborated on extensive actions carried out by arrogant powers in recent years to threaten and impose sanctions against Iran.

Iran has made major progress in the fields of science and technology including in space and nuclear fields, Raisi said in the meeting.

Meanwhile, Soesatyo termed Iran-Indonesia relations as historic, saying that reinforcing bilateral relations will benefit both Tehran and Jakarta.

Expressing concern over the increase in violence against the oppressed Palestinians in recent months, Soesatyo reiterated that the Palestinians should have the right to determine their own destiny.
